Afterschool Program Coordinator form


Jimmy Potters Workshop runs 35-40 different before/after school childcare programs at Elementary Schools in the Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC region.

We are hiring 2 Program Directors to work on and off-site and organize/facilitate these childcare enrichment, education programs.

Job Duties: 

  • Develop and maintain a safe and fun educational childcare environment for kids both before and after school at an Elementary School. As well as during Summer Camp.

  • Plan and implement structured and safe enrichment program activities

  • Provide link between school and childcare program for child's growth and development in their education

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community and families

  • Bill and collect tuition from parents

  • Track government subsidies and parent online attendance tracking

  • Be a substitute for the day for any sick instructors

  • Implement lesson seasonal plans

  • Print students rosters, gather instructor binders, gather and print high-quality pictures for 8 week curriculum

  • Plan meetings for staff events

  • Train and shadow new instructors

Hours average around 30-35hrs/week. (more hours may be available, based on qualifications and availability)

  • After School hours run from 2:30p until 6:00p.

  • Summer Camp hours are 630a-600p Mon-Fri (not expected to work all hours)

Location: Programs are located in Fairfax, Loudoun, Montgomery county and Washington DC


  • Must be at least 21yrs old

  • Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or education field

  • AND/OR 3yrs full-time experience working with school-aged children, does not have to be in childcare realm

  • Spanish Speaking or any other language is a plus. Please note when applying.

  • Early Childhood Education experience or education a plus- please note when applying
