Nice to have's:
*Knowledge of creating any Art medium ( ie knitting, sculpture, painting, pottery)
*Experience with teaching elementary-age children
*Must be able to pass a background check
*Must be available at least 1-2 times a weekdays during the school year 
*Have a reliable vehicle for transportation
*Ability to lift up to 10 lbs of teaching equipment


About us:
Jimmy Potters Workshop is the largest provider of after-school pottery programs in Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, DC.

Candidates
We are searching for artistic, energetic and capable Art Instructors that want to make a difference in the lives of elementary school children grade K-6th.

We are looking for an artistic individual who loves working with Art, and inspiring children elementary aged children 6-11. 

You don't need to have experience with ceramics, but of course you can be! But you must love working with children through Art.

You will receive thorough instructor training on how to use our 8 week curriculum to teach a pottery class.

Compensation:
Instructor compensation is competitive and will be based on candidates Art and teaching experience with children 

Teaching Responsibilities:
*Manage a classroom of 9-15 students
*Use our ceramic curriculum to demonstrate and effectively communicate all of the basic fundametals of pottery making (pinch pot, slipping , and glazing)
*Promote good a positive enronment among students
*Supervise child/ parent pickup
